Sep 30 - Sep 30

00:00 AM - 23:59 PM

The panel discussion on Innovations in Low Energy Cooling and Ventilation for Indian Residences was held at the Building Simulation conference at Rome on 3rd September 2019. The member of the panel were Malcolm Cook,Charalampos Angelopoulos from Loughborough University, UK, Yash Shukla from CARBSE, CEPT University, India, Francesco Babich from Eurac Research, Italy and PC Thomas from Team Catalyst. The panel had presented and discussed their ideas for the design and control of low energy cooling and ventilation strategies. Presentations were included concept designs, innovative control algorithms and showed how dynamic thermal simulation, coupled with an objected oriented modelling language (Modelica), is being used to test and refine these strategies. Professor Malcolm Cook facilitated a discussion around the pros and cons of such strategies which include design challenges, control, thermal comfort, appropriate use of simulation tools and design guidance required.
