Working in public policy presents an opportunity to solve pressing national and global issues. But what is public policy? What is policy research and why does it matter? What does it take to shape or nudge policies that define the future trajectories of nations and communities? We will unpack some of these questions in this session. We will also deliberate on the role of smart, efficient and inclusive buildings/built environments in solving some wicked problems of our times.
Shalu Agrawal is a Senior Programme Lead at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, one of Asia’s leading policy think tanks. She leads The Council’s work on residential energy access, demand-side management and power sector reforms. She uses data to study the changing energy landscape and devise strategies to ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy. A Chevening scholar, Shalu holds an MSc from University College London and a BTech from IIT Roorkee.
