Thermal Comfort And Affordable Housing Training
Facilitated by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the project Climate Smart Buildings (CSB) has been launched under the “Indo-German Energy Program” (IGEN), to enhance climate resilience and thermal comfort in buildings. CSB is jointly managed by GIZ and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), India.
Under the project “Development of Training Module on Thermal Comfort in Affordable Housing” within CSB, Center for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy, CRDF, CEPT University is offering training programs on thermal comfort for affordable housing. These training programs will acquaint the larger audience with the nuances of thermal comfort through a multi-layered understanding of the phenomenon and low or no-cost interventions. It will lend depth to the knowledge of professionals and technical officials at various levels of government involved in implementation of relevant policies and codes for affordable housing.
The training programs contain following sessions such as
- Importance of thermal comfort
- Building codes, international standard and practice
- Case Studies to demonstrate application of thermal comfort in affordable housing
Eligibility
- Central, state and urban local body senior officials preferably having a degree in engineering or architecture and serving in (a) Urban Local Bodies (b) State government and (c) Central government departments engaged in the development of affordable housing under various government schemes.
- Central, state and urban local body officials dealing with implementation of codes and policy related to thermal comfort, energy efficiency and affordable housing
- Professionals interested in understanding the basics of thermal comfort needs and its applicability in affordable housing such as architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers or professionals from allied fields
- Professionals interested in enhancing their understanding of thermal comfort needs and its applicability in affordable housing
- Faculties of higher education institutes and other professionals
Training workshop details
CARBSE will conduct a total of 24 training workshops in the following formats:
- Six ‘RACHNA for Officers’ trainings: One-day, In-person event (Module no. 1-6)
- Six ‘RACHNA for Practitioners’ trainings: Two-day, In-person event (Module no. 7-12)
- Six ‘RACHNA for Officers’ trainings: One-day, online event (Module no. 13-18)
- Six ‘RACHNA for Practitioners’ trainings: Two-day, Online event (Module no. 19-24)
- Six ‘Training of Trainers’: three day, In-person event (Module no. 25-30)
Please note the following details:
- After completion of the training workshop, participants will receive an e-certificate of participation.
- In case of unavailability of seats in the selected module, an alternate module will be offered.
- For all in-person training, travel and accommodation costs will be borne by the participants.
