Anmol Mathur of MTech Building Energy Performance program at the Faculty of Technology has been awarded the BHAVAN Scholarship to research Urban Energy Modelling at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), USA.
The Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) have established a dynamic visitation program between Indian and US institutions and premier US Universities. The Building Energy Efficiency Higher & Advanced Network (BHAVAN) Fellowships and Internships are envisaged to create a sustainable and vibrant linkage between the two nations, as well as build long term Indo-American science and technology relationships.
Over six months of internship starting May 2020, Anmol will work under the guidance of Dr. Tianzhen Hong of Urban Systems Group of LBNL. His work will focus on the development of a city-level 3-dimensional building stock model coupled with the energy model. He will investigate strategies to achieve low carbon pathways for the city of Ahmedabad.
Since the establishment of BHAVAN in 2016, CEPT University has bagged six internship-fellowships over five cycles.
